Douglas Lima

With a heart of a champion, Douglas Lima (a.k.a “The Phenom”) has shown resilience in the face of adversity time and time again.

Douglas was born in Brazil and immigrated to the US where he took up mixed martial arts. A natural fighter, Douglas fought in his first professional fight at the age of 18. Douglas soon became known for his devastating leg kicks and chopped down his opponents like a lumberjack taking an axe to a tree.

Today, he’s the current “King of the Hill” in the Welterweight Division at Bellator. In fact, he’s a 3x Bellator Welterweight Champion, which means he’s been knocked off the hill a couple of times.

For some, the fall from the top spot can be so overwhelming that they cannot recover. To do so, is rare, but to do it twice is unheard of and that’s just part of what makes Douglas exceptional.

If you’re familiar with Douglas, you’ll know he has a humble disposition outside of the cage, but to see him fight (or even train), you’ll see his ferocity and determination to be the best.

While Douglas has had a storied career in MMA that includes 39 professional fights and comebacks from crippling injuries – it’s far from over. He now has his sights set on Bellator’s vacant Middleweight Championship.
