Davidson, a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, has an inspiring
journey that led him to the world of bobsleigh. After
growing up in the challenging environment of the Favelas of Sao
Paulo, Davidson found salvation through Track and
Field, which paved the way for his development as a
professional athlete. In 2013 & 2014, Davidson’s life
took an unexpected turn when he joined the
Brazilian Bobsleigh team and fell in love with the sport.
This newfound passion propelled him to strive for a
place on the Olympic team for the 2014 Sochi Games.
Following his Olympic trails experience, Davidson
made a pivotal decision that exemplied his unwaver-
ing dedication. He sold all his possessions to aord a
one-way ticket back to Canada.
The motivation behind this sacrice was his deep-root-
ed dream of representing Canada at the Olympic
Games, a dream that became even more profound
when he became a father in 2015. The honor of
representing his children’s country motivated David-
son to pursue his Olympic
aspiration.
Davidson is the first Brazilian to have won a World Cup
Medal in history.
